It might be the smallest of the Ford Transit range, but the Transit Courier has plenty to offer a wide range of businesses. In fact, its compactness is one of its key assets, making it ideal for handling busy city motoring. Since it’s not much bigger than the average hatchback, it manages to slot into the type of parking spaces that larger vans find problematic, making it versatile in urban environments.
Choose from Leader, Trend, Limited or Sport trim levels, each fitted with a side sliding door and 158-degree-opening rear doors, providing easy access to the load compartment, which offers 2,300 litres of cargo capacity and a load length of approximately 2.6 metres.
The vehicle’s cab is installed with DAB radio, AUX and USB ports and Bluetooth connectivity, the latter allowing audio streaming and hands-free telephony. Next-tier Trend trims add a Ford SYNC 3 infotainment system, which includes a four-inch colour display, while Limited and Sport grades feature a six-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto and more besides. Standard-issue safety features include Anti-lock Braking System, Electronic Stability Programme and Hill-start Assist.
This accomplished commercial vehicle is available with a choice of three engines. The most efficient is a 1.5-litre 74bhp diesel unit, which returns as much as 57.6mpg while producing CO2 emissions from just 129g/km.
