Allen Motor Group Present 4 Awards at Essex Cricket’s 2023 End-Of-Season Gala

.

Essex County Cricket Club held its annual End-of-Season Gala Dinner at Braxted Park on Wednesday 4th October co-hosted by our very own Kia Ambassador, Graham Gooch.

It’s been a successful season for Essex Cricket with their Falcons Ability team reaching the final of the D40 Pursuit competition, helped in terms of transport by the minibus we have loaned to them and which they have named ‘The Eagle’.

As well as the Ability team, Essex won the Women’s London Championship for the first time and several members of that team then helped the Eagles’ U18 Women to lift the National County T20 cup.

The men’s first XI made a first Vitality Blast Finals Day appearance in four years in a much-viewed final and forced Surrey all the way to the wire for the LV= Insurance County Championship title.

To celebrate such achievements across the board, Allen Motor Group Marketing Director Matt Brown attended the end-of-season ceremony to help hand out four of the awards.

‘Ability Young Player of The Year, Sponsored by Allen Ford’ went to Amara Law.

Essex Cricket said: “Opening bowler Amara was a key part as the side reached the regional final this season, taking six wickets with a best of 3/14 to dismiss Kent for 28. She overcame a potentially season-ending back injury to play in that final, though showed her dedication by coming to Hampshire whilst injured and even took over scoring.”

‘Ability Player of The Year, Sponsored by Allen Ford’ was won by Joe Moss.

Essex Cricket said: “All-rounder Joe had a huge impact after joining the side last winter, finishing as leading run-scorer and wicket-taker for both the Hawks and the Falcons. A strong fielder, Joe hit a season top-score of 70 not out against Surrey and returned best bowling figures of 4/11 in dismissing Middlesex for just 62.”

Matt also handed awards to the Women’s Young Player of The Year, Prisha Bedi, and the Men’s Young Player of the Year, Robin Das (an alumnus of Brentwood School).
