The focus of the HR Business Partner (HRBP) is to provide prompt and robust HR advice to the business in line with AMG policies and procedures, and give guidance and support to encourage line management to take ownership of people-related matters. The HRBP drives best practice through the coaching and upskilling of line managers, and validating and embedding people practices. The HRBP has a key role in people-related projects.

Key Duties

  1. Dealing with various HR queries throughout the business, providing hands-on support with high profile or complex cases
  2. Identifying people-related themes and trends from KPIs and day-to-day contact with managers, communicating these to ensure that the business is aware of risks and opportunities
  3. Coaching and upskilling line managers on people-related matters so that they have the skills to engage their team and understand why this is important
  4. Embedding people practices, ensuring line managers understand their role in these and proposing changes or improvements where required
  5. Validating that all people practices are being conducted in line with company requirements, and in the correct way – making sure we are doing the right thing for our team
  6. Involvement in people projects
  7. Advising managers on recruitment and selection
  8. Managing the apprenticeship schemes to ensure compliance and maximise operational benefit
  9. Working with line managers to identify and implement development actions
  10. Supporting the HR & Payroll team with other matters as and when required

  • Good knowledge of employment legislation

  • Practical and logical; able to solve problems quickly and make sound decisions
  • Supportive of other team members with a flexible approach
  • Experience as an HR advisor, HR Business Partner or similar – preferably in a field role
