The role of a Paint Technician is to carry out vehicle paint operations to agreed methods and standards, fully utilising all available resources and facilities. Ensuring high standards are achieved in quality of work, efficiency and productivity and focusing on maintaining customer loyalty by providing outstanding customer satisfaction.

Key Duties:

  1. Carrying out paint operations to agreed methods and standards and working to times and standards as directed by Insurance company guidelines, manufacturer standards, BSI standards and or AMG policy.
  2. Interpreting and applying technical repair and paint data and read thoroughly reading all vehicle literature and updates supplied.
  3. Ensuring vehicles comply with all safety and manufacturers standards when returned to customers and record any non-conformance of this on the work request card.
  4. Completing work request forms correctly and neatly, ensuring that they conform to company/manufacturer/warranty requirements and procedures including the recording of damage reports, mileages and chassis numbers, and that they are clocked on/off as necessary.
  5. Ensuring that all parts/sundries used during the course of a service/repair are accounted for by either a parts department invoice/picking slip attached to the work request card or by recording them on the work request card.
  6. When necessary, appraising vehicle faults/ concerns with customers.
  7. Keeping the workshop clean and tidy to ensure high standards of Health and Safety and practice good housekeeping.
  8. Attending training courses, both in house and off site, as deemed appropriate/reasonable by your line manager to support your technical development.
  9. Fully adhering to all Health and Safety Procedures and reporting any non-compliance (including non-compliance by colleagues) to ensure that all employees and customers are protected from any potential hazards.
  10. Ensuring customers vehicles are protected against accidental damage or loss whilst in the care of the organisation, including protecting them with the appropriate covers.
  11. Safeguarding all plant and tools against loss or misuse and use all equipment reliably and safely, reporting and defects immediately.
  12. Any other reasonable duties as requested by your line manager.
