The Transit Courier is a practical, compact van in Ford’s commercial vehicle range and the latest model features a host of updates – inside and out.
The car-like Courier introduces a three-louver radiator grille and redesigned lower bumper. The latter helps deliver enhanced aerodynamics, as does Active Grille Shutter, which improves air-flow efficiency and quickens warm-up times, among other things. Trend grades now feature body-coloured fixtures as standard, including bumpers, door handles and door mirrors.
Two new paint finishes (Metal Blue and Diffused Silver) replace the outgoing Iceberg and Tectonic Silver colours, and, appropriately, Sport trims feature racy body stripes.

Cruise Control lets you set a speed then maintains it until you brake or accelerate. Via toggles on the steering wheel you can also adjust your speed while you’re driving.
In addition, the Adjustable Speed Limiter device helps you drive within a pre-set limit that you select. Not only does it help you to save fuel, the system can minimise the likelihood of you exceeding the speed limit too. As well as their practical benefits, both technologies can make long motorway journeys more relaxing.
Transit Courier is equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission, making it more economical and efficient. Once you reach a high enough speed, just slip your van into 6th gear and save on fuel while you’re cruising along. You’ll find the gear changes are smooth and quick too.
The van’s 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol and 1.5-litre TDCi diesel engines have each been refined in order to deliver enhanced efficiency. To the same end, five-speed manual transmission has been replaced by six-speed gearboxes, which are fitted as standard.
Ford SYNC 3 is an advanced system that enables you to stay connected and control your phone, music and navigation system. Choose either voice commands or the 6" colour touchscreen with pinch-and-swipe gestures for intuitive navigation. Live Traffic can help you avoid the jams. You can even call up a list of local restaurants simply by saying "I’m hungry".
Inside, this compact van features a refashioned centre console, which is available with a six-inch touchscreen and Ford’s SYNC 3 infotainment system. Standard with newly added Limited trims – and optional with Base, Kombi, Trend and Sport grades, the display is larger than before and much easier for the driver to reach. (Trend trims and above all feature SYNC 3).
Electronic Stability Control and an advanced Traction Control System constantly monitor your vehicle’s progress. They sense when the vehicle is losing grip and automatically apply a braking pulse to individual wheels, helping to stabilise it. This ensures you have the best possible grip, performance and stability when you need it most.
It may be compact, but with a load area of 2.3 cubic metres you get 10% more load volume than other vehicles in the same class. Behind the full bulkhead, there’s room for a Europallet and a generous 600kg payload capacity. Ingenious features help protect both your cargo and your vehicle from the rigours of working life. And because the van is built to tough commercial vehicle standards it’s not only made to last, but designed to minimise cost of ownership.
The smallest van in the Transit range, the Transit Courier nevertheless possesses an impressive 2.3m3 loadspace and offers a maximum 595kg payload. It’s fitted with a nearside door and twin asymmetric rear doors too, providing easy cargo bay access.
Easy to drive and featuring a practical, comfortable and smartly appointed cab, the Transit Courier handles like a dream.
An efficient 1.0-litre EcoBoost 99bhp engine is installed as standard – this Euro 6.2 compliant drivetrain is equipped with fuel-saving Auto Start-Stop technology too. An even more efficient 1.5-litre Duratorq TDCi powertrain is also available, offering power outputs of 74bhp or 99bhp, while returning up to 65.6mpg and producing CO2 emissions from just 129g/km.
The Ford Transit Courier is available in Leader, Trend, Limited and Sport trim levels. The latter rides on 16-inch, seven-spoke, alloy wheels, features front and rear skid plates as well as sport rocker panels, and is further distinguished by eye-catching sport stripes.
