Brains and brawn

The exterior of the latest Ford Transit brings a fresh look to the iconic design. Whilst inside, the intelligently crafted cabin features a new Instrument Panel and puts a series of advanced technologies at your fingertips.

Advanced new engine technology

Featuring a range of advanced, next-generation, 2.0-litre Ford EcoBlue diesel engines, the Transit is more powerful and more efficient than ever before. With four powertrains available, offering up to 185 PS of horsepower and 415 Nm of torque, you’re guaranteed to find the one that meets your specific needs. Whichever you choose, every engine meets the stringent Euro 6.2 emissions standards too. The vehicle is even available as a mild Hybrid Electric Vehicle (mHEV) for even greater fuel economy and reduced CO2 emissions.

The key to a more connected world

For the first time, the Transit is available with a FordPass Connect modem*. The system provides a range of invaluable benefits, including up to 4G Wi-Fi†† for up to ten devices, and real-time traffic updates‡‡ delivered straight to your in-car navigation system. When combined with the FordPass app on your phone, you’ll be able to check if you remembered to lock the doors, and then lock or unlock them remotely. You can even see your van’s location on a map – so you don’t have to worry about forgetting where you parked when in unfamiliar locations

New 5.0-Tonne Transit

The new 5.0-tonne Transit is the most capable Transit load-hauler Ford has ever built. Available as panel van or chassis cab with 5,000kg gross vehicle mass (GVM) and net payload of up to 2,383kg on panel van or 2,558kg on factory-fitted flatbed, offered in a wide range of variants with uprated suspension, driveline and brakes.

All 5.0-tonne Transit variants are rear-wheel drive for optimum traction when fully laden, and fitted with Ford’s HDT powertrain for optimum durability, performance and fuel efficiency. Ford’s 170PS 2.0-litre EcoBlue diesel engine produces up to 390Nm of torque to help moving heavy loads, and is coupled to a smooth-shifting six-speed manual gearbox or Ford’s class-leading 10-speed automatic transmission.

In addition, 5.0-tonne Transit introduces to Europe for the first time an uprated 3,500kg rear axle that has already proven its robustness and durability in North American Transit models. If specified with the 10-speed automatic gearbox, a new 2,100kg front axle is also fitted, which offers an additional 225kg load capacity over the standard version.
