Allen Motor Group Support Hill Holt Wood

In September 2021, Allen Motor Group’s leadership team visited Hill Holt Wood near Lincoln, a woodland social enterprise with charitable status. Hill Holt Wood work with the local community to create an environmentally sustainable woodland based on the “Green Care” model of well-being.

The ancient woodland is accessible to the public, providing an attractive and safe green space where they can enjoy countryside walks and connect with nature. There are also a range of education programmes and courses available, all aimed at engaging participants with nature, in addition to employment opportunities and voluntary work.

Hill Holt Wood also provides an off-grid escape to those in need. The Hill Holt Health Programme is a nature-based therapeutic service that encourages participants to partake in woodland management, conservation, and craft activities in a stress-free, natural, outdoor environment. The sessions are designed to improve participants’ emotional, cognitive and physical health, working with trained practitioners and partaking in skill-building exercises in a friendly, social setting to create a sense of achievement and belonging as well as improving self-confidence.

Allen Motor Group are pleased to be supporting Hill Holt Wood with their mental well-being strategy, providing them with a Ford Tourneo Custom Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle so that the team can reach those in the community who may need their support.

Matt Brown, Marketing Director at Allen Motor Group, said: “We have all been inspired and reflective on our time spent at Hill Holt Wood. The environmental impact and support work in the community captured all our imaginations and stimulated a collective desire to want to play our part in some small way. We are pleased to be providing a Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle to Hill Holt Wood so the team are able to travel in a more environmentally friendly, low-emission vehicle.”

The Ford Tourneo Custom seats up to nine occupants in a practical, versatile, and comfortable interior space. It’s available with an impressive list of smart, driver-assist features including a Blind Spot Information System that sees the vehicles you might miss.

The Tourneo Custom PHEV uses two individual power sources. A battery-powered electric motor provides the drive, while a 1.0-litre petrol engine recharges the battery and extends the vehicle’s range. It’s possible to choose between four Electric Vehicle modes. These include “EV Now” which allows zero-emission driving using electric-only power (up to a range of around 33 miles depending on the vehicle, the weather, and driving behaviour).
