Kia’s best-selling SUV has been redesigned, combining a muscular, modern exterior with a range of eco-friendly hybrid powertrains and innovative safety technologies that will set a new benchmark for the modern SUV.
Developed on a new ‘N3’ architecture, the New Sportage is a perfect fit for the UK market. Featuring a compact wheelbase of 2,680mm, a width of 1,865mm, length of 4,515mm and height of 1,645mm, the spacious fifth-generation Sportage offers more headroom and legroom for all occupants compared to the previous model. It also has improved luggage capacity with 40:20:40 split rear seats allowing for 1,780 litres of total cargo space.
New Advanced Powertrains
The New Sportage is equipped with a range of advanced electrified powertrains, making it one of the most efficient SUVs available. Owners can lower emissions and enjoy enhanced fuel economy with a high-tech hybrid (HEV), mild-hybrid (MHEV) or plug-in hybrid (PHEV).
The high-tech HEV variant has a 44.2kW electric motor and a 1.49kWh lithium-ion polymer battery, producing 230PS. The MHEV variant comes with two power options, either 150PS or 180PS. The most powerful and eco-friendly plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variant features a 66.9kW permanent magnet traction electric motor and a 13.8kWh lithium-ion polymer battery pack, producing a total 265PS and capable of covering most daily trips in pure electric mode alone - ideal when travelling from home to work or for daily shopping. To meet the needs of all customers, clean internal combustion petrol and diesel engines are also an option.

Innovative Safety Technologies
The fifth-generation Sportage is one of the safest vehicles in its class with new safety restraint and structure systems, including driver airbag, passenger airbag, side curtain airbags, front-seat centre airbag and low-side airbags.
Kia’s acclaimed Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) technology – also known as DriveWise – protects occupants and other road users by avoiding potential hazards. The package includes:
Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist System with Junction Turning functionality which aims to prevent collisions with oncoming cars, pedestrians and bicycles at junctions.
Highway Driving Assist (HDA) maintains a set distance and speed from the vehicle ahead, helps to centre the new Sportage in its lane, and automatically adjusts vehicle speed according to the speed limit.
Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control (NSCC) maintains a safe speed on roads and motorways using real-time navigation data. Automatically reduces the speed of travel before encountering the corner or curve.
Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA) system warns the driver if there is a risk of collision when changing lanes. After the warning, if the risk of collision increases, BCA actively controls the new Sportage to help avoid a collision. BCA is also active in parallel parking manoeuvres.
Blind-Spot View Monitor (BVM) further enhances safety and driver visibility when changing lanes by displaying a real-time rear-side image of the vehicle in the instrument cluster.
Remote Smart Parking Assist (RSPA) helps the driver to remotely park or exit a parking spot from outside the vehicle. Parking manoeuvres are further enhanced with the addition of Surround View Monitor (SVM) technology, which displays real-time video footage of the vehicle and its surroundings.
